How to Facebook account delete
Are you looking to delete your Facebook account and start afresh? Here’s a straightforward guide on how to do it.
First, ensure that you’re logged into the Facebook account you wish to delete. Navigate to the top right corner of the page and click on the downward-facing arrow to open the menu. From the dropdown, select ‘Settings & Privacy,’ then click on ‘Settings.’
In the Settings menu, look for the ‘Your Facebook Information’ section on the left sidebar. Click on ‘View’ next to ‘Deactivation and Deletion.’ Here, you’ll be given two options: Deactivate Account and Delete Account. Select ‘Delete Account’ and then click on ‘Continue to Account Deletion.’
You’ll be asked to enter your password and potentially complete a security check. After this, you’ll see a list of information about what will happen once your account is deleted. It’s important to review these details carefully, as deleting your account is irreversible after a grace period of 30 days. During this period, your account will be deactivated, and you can still recover it if you change your mind.
If you’re ready to proceed, click ‘Delete Account.’ Your request will then be processed, and Facebook will send a confirmation email. Be aware that your data will be removed from Facebook’s servers permanently after the 30-day period.
Before you delete your account, you might want to download your Facebook data. To do this, go back to the ‘Your Facebook Information’ section, click on ‘Download Your Information,’ and follow the prompts to select the data you want to save. This could include your photos, messages, and other account information.
Remember, deleting your Facebook account means losing access to all the information and content associated with it. This includes photos, posts, and any interactions with friends. If you’ve used Facebook to log into other services or apps, you’ll need to update those accounts with a new login method.
In summary, deleting your Facebook account is a straightforward process but requires careful consideration. Ensure you’ve backed up any important information and understand the consequences before finalising the deletion.
